Position Overview
Our client is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging and labelling solutions, providing customised printing designed to keep products safe, fresh, and ready for the market. Based in Tanzania with operations across the East African region, they are committed to excellence through sustainability, recycling 100% of their in-house waste, and tailoring solutions to meet diverse customer needs.

As part of their growth and operational excellence journey, they are seeking a skilled Inventory & Stores Senior Associate to manage local procurement, stock levels, and material issuance while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency through expert use of ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate stock levels across all warehouses and stores, ensuring availability of materials and products as required.
- Oversee local procurement processes including supplier negotiations, purchase order management, and delivery follow-up to ensure timely availability of goods.
- Supervise material receiving, inspection, and issuing processes in alignment with internal control procedures.
- Ensure inventory records are up-to-date and accurately reflect stock movement in the ERP system.
- Lead regular stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and full inventory audits to maintain data accuracy and minimize variances.
- Analyse inventory reports to identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock and recommend appropriate actions.
- Coordinate closely with production, sales, and procurement teams to ensure optimal stock availability without overstocking.
- Drive improvements in warehouse layout, material handling, and storage practices to ensure efficient stock management and space utilisation.
- Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards within the warehouse and storage areas.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior store personnel in inventory control procedures and ERP usage.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of proven experience in inventory management, stores control, and procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Good understanding of inventory control principles, warehouse management, and material flow.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and best practices in inventory and store management.
Additional Information:
- This role is based in Tanzania.
- The position is subject to a 3-month probation period, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion.
